Rustic Crafts

Rustic crafts are the main theme of this site however I have a lot of tutorials that have spawned off from this that fit better into the categories of recycled, holiday or vintage crafts.  All of my craft tutorials on this page use natural elements or have a nature theme as the major part of their design.

Rustic Craft Ideas:

You can make signs, candle holders, tissue holders and even jewelry from branches or branch slices.  Combine the natural items with vintage or recycled pieces like typewriter keys or wine corks to give your project some added interest.  Birch bark can be added to lots of craft projects for texture and a shabby white color.  I even made a snowman with an outer covering of birch bark.

Dress up a plain glass candle holder with birch twigs for a more rustic look.  Build a rustic tissue box using thick white birch branches and see how you can make a metal flower for a fun whimsical look.

Lampshades, pictures frames and plaques can all be given a rustic look with the right embellishments.  Birch branches and bark covered wire are two of my favorite craft supplies to use.
