Google Friend Connect Is Going Away…But No Worries!
In case you haven’t heard the news, Google will be taking away the Google Friend Connect feature from all non-blogger sites beginning in March. This is just part of their big Spring Clean-Up. For all of my Google Friend Followers, please make the switch now to my posts RSS feed (there are several readers, including Google, to choose from) or email subscription to continue receiving my post updates. The feed icons are at the top of the page in the blue header.
You can also follow me through my Facebook page, Twitter or my new Google+ page where you can find my post updates as well as be involved with some fun social interaction. It is Google’s intent that the Google+ page take the place of Google Friend Connect, for the social aspect, using circles and hangouts to keep in touch.
If you don’t have a Google+ account, simply go to Google and sign in with your google account password, and get started. Once you have your Google+, you can start +1 ing and adding circles. To follow this site, just click on Add To Circles and the +1 buttons. It all sounds a little more complicated than some of the other social media sites but I think it’s just because it is all new and takes some getting used to. I have been using it for just a little while now and am starting to get the feel for it.
Another option is to sign up for my weekly newsletter, The Weekly Chirp. In it I recap all of the weekly posts along with any other news of the week. This gets sent right to your email.
There are so many ways that you can stay updated with my daily posts, that hopefully this change won’t be too much of an inconvenience to you. Just remember to pick one of the alternative ways to subscribe before the first of March, 2012 so that you don’t miss out on any of the features!
