Recycled crafts or “green crafts” are some of the most fun projects to do because you get to use what you already have which saves both money and the environment. Plus, who doesn’t get a kick out of making something decorative or useful out of an ordinary throw away item. There is just so much satisfaction in that!
A while back I posted a few different recycled craft challenges to help to spur on some fun creativity. One of the categories, for these challenges, was for using DVD cases.
If you are like me, you have a more consolidated way in which to store your dvd’s….like a dvd album. This is a great way to store dvd’s but leaves a problem on what to do with all of those empty cases.
Instead of just throwing them away, I figured it would be fun to use them in a new and productive way.
I had come up with a fly box for fishing but I hadn’t seen any other ideas…… until now!
Stacy from Handmade By Stacy Vaughn submitted this link for an adorable DVD coloring case:
I just love the colorful fabric she used to create the envelope for the colored pencils! This is such a perfect use for these cases and kids will love to tote them around wherever they go. Make sure you check out her blog to see exactly how she put this little gem together!
Thanks for the inspiration Stacy!
