Rustic Decor DIY Ideas For Every Room

I’m not sure when I first became interested in rustic decorating but I do know that it’s been over a decade. The fact that my husband is an avid hunter may have something to do with it. Since I had to incorporate hunting trophies into our decor, I had to find ways to do this tastefully. I did limit the amount of rooms that could have hunting trophies displayed. However, the rustic decorating eventually spilled out to every room. Since I didn’t want to purchase a lot of expensive rustic accents, I became a rustic decor DIY buff.

How To Paint A Bathroom Vanity

I’ve painted a lot of furniture throughout the years but unfortunately not the most effortless way. It wasn’t until I discovered chalk paint that I really began to enjoy the process and the smoothest results! Now I always use a good primer, chalk paint, and finishing wax to get a super smooth finish that lasts. I have been to several flea markets and antique stores and have seen so many different door knobs for sale.  The beauty of the old glass knobs has me tempted to switch out all of our knobs at home but this wouldn’t be real practical and I have never seen a whole set of matching knobs anyway. Since I wouldn’t be switching out my knobs, it got me thinking about door knob crafts. There are lots of ways to use these knobs decoratively in a home. So, I came up with a collection of door knob crafts that would be fun to try.

I love having lots of necklaces on hand but I hate trying to store them. Traditional jewelry boxes usually don’t offer enough storage space. This way, they won’t get tangled up and are much easier to access. I’ll show you a couple of easy necklace holder DIYs that are super budget friendly and effective.

Rustic Home Bathroom Remodel

It’s hard for me to believe but we’ve had our cabin now for just over ten years. When we originally built it, it was meant as a weekend or vacation place. However, since that time, it has become more of a home where we spend most of our time. Because of that, it became necessary to make some changes in our main bathroom. I needed more space, function, and a bit of modern appeal. This remodel meant replacing the vanity and sink, painting the tile backsplash, painting the linen cabinet, and replacing the mirror. I’ll show you the whole process of blending the old with the new to create a more modern rustic bathroom space.
