The beauty of using the barnwood is that the natural aging and weathering creates a great gray finish. All you really need to do is clean the wood by lightly sanding and wiping down. I like to use a mixture of water and bleach. If you are going to use the wood for furniture, you may also want to coat it with a flat or satin finish polyurethane.
